Southern California Grotto is hosting the Western Regional in Tecopa, CA this fall. Tecopa is a hidden gem of Californian subterranean exploration, with some of the best mines in the Death Valley area for exploring, including Pinnacle Cave, along with access to numerous mud caves. Unlike most meteoric caves, which form along fissures and bedding planes within a specific host rock, mines provide a unique window into the geology of the subsurface as they crosscut different minerals and rock types.

Along with guided and unguided tours of these features, we will have numerous talks on caving and speleology. Camping will be included at the Tecopa Hot Springs and Campground—bring your towel for the hot springs!

Saturday evening, there will be catered Mexican food.
